Major Changes since the War

After the War many changes happened. The Nazi leaders were put into the Nuremberg Trials. Which they were charged for wagging war  of aggression, and violation, and committing crimes against the humanity, and for the murder of 11 million people. 12 of the 22 Nazi leaders were put to death. The other Nazi leaders were cremated at the Concentration camps in the same ovens as many of their victims. Another way that times have changed since the war, the US after the war to occupation in Japan that way they could not start any more fighting since that they wanted continue to have war after it was over.

Holocaust

The Holocaust was honestly the worst part of World War II. Many innocent people were imprisoned just on the faith that they did have. But on top of that they were treaty awfully. Many Jews did not make it out of the concentration camps alive. The lasting affects of the Holocaust are that the Jews who survived all they went through had images in their mind and details and memories that happened to them that they will never forget since it had a major impact on them. The survivors no mater how much therapy that they got it would never get them back to the same way as they were before they went into the camps that they were put into.

The US involvement in World War II

The US did not get involved into the war until problems arose on our own US soil. The United States was bombed in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. We were not fully surprised by the attack that came to us. We knew that the attack was coming from the Japanese we just did not know when or where the attack was going to be made at. So after the attack on Pearl Harbor the Japaneses Americans were sent to Internment Camps. The camps were in restricted military areas that were located away from the coast. 31,275 people were imprisoned in the United States from 1941-1946  just because they were of Japanese descent.

The Battle of Stalingrad

The Battle of Stalingrad began on August 23, 1942, it is considered to be the turning point of World War II. During this battle nightly bombing raids took place the city of Stalingrad was in some much in ablaze that it was becoming into rubble. Stalin had told the one who were defending the city to "Not one step backward." By early November the Germans controlled most of the city that was ruined. But once the Russian winter set in it caused the Germans to not be as dominate in Stalingrad. The Germans were not at all prepared for the the long cold winter. Which caused them to starve and cause a lot of deaths. So the on February 2, 1943 the Germans finally surrender to the Soviet Union. This is important to World War II since the Germans were getting pushed away from the Soviets.

Germany as a Miltary State

Germany during the time of World War II was a very violent country that had a lot of power. During the time of World War II, Germany was under the rule of Hitler. Which caused them to be a strong military with the Nazi army. Germany used the war tacit of air raids. With this they could get rid of many cities with a lot of people and cause mass destruction all at once.Hitler made an agreement with Stalin so that they were not able to attack each other during the war. But when one country would get the other they would help each other out. Germany was the military superpower during World War II.
